System Design & Installation

To install a new or replacement septic system consists of a three step process; site evaluation, design and installation. The site evaluation tells you what type of system you are required to have on your property based on the results of the soil borings. The design provides the placement of the septic system based on the site evaluation, incorporating what is feasible for placement and meeting your specific needs.

Step 1: Site Evaluation

The first step is to schedule a site evaluation. We recommend Bill Gangloff. He can be reached at (302) 352-1700.

Step 2: System Design

Once your site evaluation is complete, our team can begin the design process.

Class-B Gravity Systems

We can design your gravity type septic system in-house. To start the process we will need the following information:

For New Construction

  • The site evaluation
  • House dimensions and placement: provide two measurements, one from the front property line and one from the side property line
  • Driveway placement
  • Number of bedrooms for the proposed home
  • It is good to know the placement for future pools, decks, and sheds. These items should not be placed on the septic system.

For Replacement Systems

  • Site evaluation
  • Having the previous permit or a Class H inspection for the property, if available, is helpful with the redesign of the new septic system.
  • Number of bedrooms
  • It is good to know the placement for future pools, decks, and sheds. These items should not be placed on the septic system.

The design will be submitted to DNREC after the property owner signs off with approval. DNREC will then mail a copy of the approved permit to the property owner.

Class C Engineered Systems

If your septic system requires an engineered design, please call the office and we will provide contact information for a few that we use.

Step 3: Installation

We are licensed to install all types of septic systems. We can provide a bid to install your septic system from the preliminary drawing or the approved DNREC permit.
